Verstellbarer Außenspiegel 67 Mustang Coupé

Liebe Schraubergemeinde ,

Der Verstellmechanismus meines Außenspiegels ist locker nach der Demontage der Türverkleidung steht ich nun vor der Frage wie und wo ist er befestigt.
Ich war davon ausgegangen dass er fest im Blech der Tür verschraubt ist und die Türpappe nur darüber kommt.
Oder ist er wenn ja wie an der Türpappe verschraubt?

Hallo Ulrich

ich kann Dir zwar nicht genau sagen, wie dies 1967 gelöst wurde, aber 1972 wurde diese Remote Controle einfach durch die Türverkleidung geschoben und von dem Innenraum aus mit einer Überwurfmutter (verchromt) befestigt. Da gibts keine feste Verbindung des Reglers mit dem Türblech!

How to Install 1967 Mustang Remote Side Mirror
1. Open the Mustang's door, then remove the window regular handle and the interior door latch handle from the door panel. Each handle is secured with a single screw. Remove each screw with a Phillips screwdriver, then pull the handles off of the door panel.
2. Remove the arm rest from the door panel. Two bolts are inserted through the bottom of the arm rest. Remove the bolts with a 3/8 inch deep socket and a socket wrench.
3. Remove the side mirror's bezel from the door panel. The bezel is the circular metal piece which surrounds the mirror's control lever. The bezel can often be unscrewed by hand. If the bezel cannot be unscrewed, position the tip of a flat head screwdriver into the small groove cut into the face of the bezel, then tightly tap on the screwdriver to rotate the bezel in a counter-clockwise direction until it comes loose.
4. Insert a flat head screwdriver between the door panel and the door, then pry the clips on the back of the door panel out of the door. Pull the door panel off of the door when the clips have been disengaged.
5. Remove the side mirror. The mirror is held in place with two screws, one located at each end of the base of the mirror. Remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver, then lift the mirror off of the door. It will be necessary to guide the remote lever from the interior side of the door through the door and out of the circle underneath the mirror.
6. Inspect the mirror's gasket for cracks. Between the base of the mirror and the top of the door is a single gasket made from hard plastic. The plastic is prone to cracks. A cracked gasket should be replaced.
7. Feed the mirror's remote control cable through the center of the mirror gasket, then position the gasket against the bottom of the base of the mirror.
8. Feed the mirror's remote control cable through the circle on the exterior of the door. Position the mirror into place on the door, then install and tighten the mirror's two screws with a Phillips head screwdriver.
9. Feed the mirror's remote control lever into position within the door, then insert the tip of the lever through the door panel. Hand-twist the lever's bezel onto the lever. Tightening the bezel at this point is only necessary to prevent the lever from falling into the door while the door panel is installed.
10. Position the door panel against the door, then push the door panel into the door until the clips on the back of the panel engage with the door.
11. Install the arm rest with the socket wrench, followed by the window crank handle and the door latch handle with the Phillips head screwdriver.
12. Hand-tighten the bezel onto the mirror's remote control lever.

Hi Ulrich,

bei meinem 67er ist es so ,wie Frank es beschreibt. Du müsstest diese Überwurfmutter haben. Es ist der Chromring, der auf der Türverkleidung war, als alles noch zusammengebaut war. Dieser hat ein Gewinde und das passt aufs Gewinde des von Dir abgebildeten Remote Hebels.

Der cromring ist vorhanden.ich denke, es fehlt ein zweiter, der aufgeschraubt wird und somit die Türpappe zwischen den Ringen fixiert.

Wenn Du die Türverkleidung montierst, kommt als erstes ein Rückhalteblech mit einer Nase auf das Gewinde, damit wird verhindert, dass die Verstelleinheit durch die Türverkleidung ins Wagen innere fällt.
Gleichzeitig sollte das Blech auch das verdrehen der Verstelleinheit verhindern während dem anziehen der Mutter. Dazu muss aber die Türverkleidung ganz sein und nicht ausgefranst ums Loch, sonst hält das Blech nicht gegen das verdrehen.

Nimm wenn du alles vorliegen hast vorher Baldriantropfen... Ich spreche aus Erfahrung. Das ist ein wenig Fummelarbeit.

Hat jemand von Euch schonmal gesehen ob man das Blech und den Chromring irgendwo einzeln erwerben kann?

Bei mir fehlen die beiden Teile.

Cromring ist noch vorhanden,
deshalb kurz aus Kunststoff eine Platte mit Gewinde hergestellt. Nase zur Rotationssicherung wird noch angebracht.
Problem gelöst.
